Clerkenwell Design Week 2025
In late May, the international design community descends on Clerkenwell for its eponymous Design Week, a melting pot of new trends and product launches mixed with pop up installations, seminars and invites to showroom events.
This year, CDW took place on 20th – 22nd May, across this design-centric area of London, adorning some impressive - in their own right - buildings, with innovative products from across the world of design and the built environment.
From the Charterhouse to the Old Sessions House, Design Fields to the Church of Design collections such as Ceramics of Italy, as well as those dedicated to various countries including the British Collection, were presented, alongside well-known brands.
The Trend Report from Urban Fox Marketing below looks at key trends in the world of the design and the built environment, outlining the brands that are setting them.
o Set over 3 jam packed days, Clerkenwell Design Week continues to exude innovation and creativity in the world of design, with a focus on products for interiors and the built environment.
o Colour trends were an important focus, both throughout talks held in showrooms and evident for all to see. Neutral pallets such as greys and beiges play a big role but it’s the bold colour pops that draw attention.
o Customisation has long been a trend but the increased offer within this industry was noticeable, giving clients the sense that they crave of being unique.
o Sustainable thinking at the heart of product design was evident and, importantly, continues to become more apparent, among brands which put this at the core of their strategies.
Understanding trends is important from guiding a strategy suitable for target audiences, to developing products, solutions and services to meet market demands. They are imperative to keeping relevant to your customer and to staying ahead of your competitors.
